YOUR DATA. YOUR CHOICE.

Here’s what Gym Watch reads, where your data stays, and the choices you have.

Effective date: 2026-10-08 · App version 1.0

↗

Gym Watch reads and processes health data on your devices. You don’t need an account, and your health records aren’t uploaded to a server run by the developer. Support messages and website access logs are covered separately below.

01 About this policy

This policy applies to the Gym Watch / 健身人 apps for iPhone and Apple Watch, their watch complications, and this support website. Gym Watch is maintained by the project developer Winston-Tao1. This page describes how version 1.0 handles data. Apple and GitHub services are also subject to their own privacy policies.

02 Health data you choose to allow

With your permission, Gym Watch uses Apple HealthKit to read workout records, heart rate, active energy, steps, and sleep records. Workout records include the time, duration, and active calories where available. This data powers health summaries, trends, and calorie statistics. The app only reads health data; it does not write records to Apple Health. You can allow some data types and decline others. Features that depend on data you haven’t allowed may show missing or incomplete information.

03 Settings and plans you create

Your fitness mode, persona, training plans, calorie and step goals, target weight, language, and appearance preferences are stored on your device. Target weight is a goal you enter, not your measured weight read from Apple Health. Persona selection and statistics linked to your plan are processed on your device. Gym Watch does not send health information to a cloud AI service for these features.

04 Storage and syncing between your devices

Your iPhone and Apple Watch each read the health records available on that device and save summaries for display. Gym Watch uses local storage and an App Group to share the data needed by its complications. It uses Apple’s WatchConnectivity framework to exchange settings, plans, and health summaries between your paired phone and watch. Complications display saved summaries, and the system controls when they update. Version 1.0 does not require an account, and the developer does not run a server that receives your health records. Device backups are handled by Apple’s services according to your backup settings.

05 How to read the statistics

Body Part Energy groups workout calories or all-day active calories according to the training category you planned for each day. It does not detect which muscles you actually trained. Recent workout, today’s activity, and latest sleep figures cover different time periods. Website images and previews in the complication gallery may show labeled sample data, rather than your own health records. Gym Watch displays fitness information and is not intended to diagnose or treat medical conditions.

06 Ads, tracking, and analytics

The current app has no ads, cross-app tracking, or third-party usage analytics SDKs. We do not sell data obtained through HealthKit, use it for advertising, or share it with advertisers. This website has no advertising or analytics scripts, marketing cookies, or embedded third-party video players.

07 Website hosting and access logs

This website is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub states that it logs and stores visitors’ IP addresses for security purposes. Network services may also process the technical request information needed to deliver the website. This is separate from the health data Gym Watch processes on your devices. See GitHub’s privacy statement for details. The website serves its own images, styles, and scripts.

08 If you contact support

When you email support, we receive the email address, message, and attachments you send so we can reply and investigate the issue. The email providers involved also process these messages. GitHub issues are public: your report and GitHub identity are visible and handled by GitHub. Please share only what we need to help, and leave out full health records and account credentials. We keep support messages for as long as needed to handle your request. You can ask us to delete messages we hold, unless we are required by law to retain them.

09 Your controls and deleting data

You can turn off read access in Apple’s Health privacy settings and change your goals, plans, and preferences in Gym Watch. Turning off access does not automatically erase summaries already saved in the app. To remove app data, delete Gym Watch from both your iPhone and Apple Watch, rather than offloading it and keeping its data. Manage your system backups separately as needed. Paired devices, complications, and backups may hold their own copies, so turning off access or deleting the app on one device does not guarantee that every copy is removed immediately. Gym Watch does not delete your original Apple Health records. To request access to or deletion of support messages, contact us below.

10 Children and data security

Gym Watch is not directed at children under 13, and we do not actively ask children to submit personal information. If you believe a child has sent personal information through a support channel, please contact us. We aim to handle as little information as needed and rely on the permissions and device storage protections provided by iOS, watchOS, and Apple. No device or method of sending data can guarantee absolute security.

11 Updates and questions

If features or data practices change, we will update this page and its effective date. Contact the developer if you have questions about this policy, access to your data, or deleting support messages.
